Danny Masterson
The Long Island Press has reported that actor Danny Masterson has been found guilty of drugging and raping three women between 2001 and 2003. The verdict was delivered on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge. Masterson is known for his roles in the television shows “That ’70s Show” and “The Ranch.”
The case had been ongoing for years, with the first allegations against Masterson surfacing in 2017. The trial was initially delayed due to COVID-19 and then postponed again due to Masterson’s lawyers attempting to have the case thrown out. Ultimately, Masterson was charged with three counts of rape by force or fear.
The three women who testified against Masterson alleged that he drugged them and then raped them while they were unconscious. Masterson’s defense team argued that the sexual encounters were consensual and that the women were motivated by money or fame. However, the judge found the women’s testimony to be credible and convicted Masterson.
Masterson’s sentencing is scheduled for June 8th, 2023. He faces a maximum sentence of 45 years to life in prison. The verdict has been met with support from many in the entertainment industry, who have praised the bravery of the women who came forward to testify against Masterson.
