The Seattle Kraken evened their series against the Colorado Avalanche with a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 2. The Kraken got off to a quick start, with Brandon Tanev scoring just 11 seconds into the game, setting a new record for the fastest goal in NHL playoff history. The Avalanche responded with goals from J.T. Compher and Gabriel Landeskog, but the Kraken were able to tie the game in the third period with a goal from Marcus Johansson. In overtime, Jordan Eberle scored the game-winning goal to give the Kraken their first-ever playoff victory.
The Kraken outshot the Avalanche 41-20, with goaltender Philipp Grubauer making 38 saves for Colorado. The Avalanche struggled on the power play, going 0-5, while the Kraken scored on one of their three power-play opportunities. The game was physical, with a total of 69 hits and several scrums after the whistle.
